“ I stopped by Parrilla Loca for lunch one day since it was close to my job, and I was genuinely surprised by how good the food was. Being originally from Southern California, I’m convinced that we have the best Mexican food outside of Mexico. Over the years, I’ve tried Mexican food from a fair share of places—Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama—and outside of California (and a few spots in Arizona), I’ve consistently been let down. But this place? Actually pretty solid. Chips, Salsa & Guacamole The first thing I judge at any Mexican restaurant is their chips and salsa, and I have to say, they nailed it. The salsa was immaculate, and as a self-proclaimed sauce snob, that’s saying something. The guacamole was also phenomenal—another area where I have high standards. I hate when I have to ask for limes to balance the flavors in my guac, but here, I didn’t have to. It was perfectly seasoned and lined to perfection—no extra effort needed on my part. The Burrito Since I wasn’t sure what to order, I went with a super burrito loaded with chicken, steak, and shrimp—and it was exactly what it sounded like: huge and packed with flavor. One thing I’ve noticed about a lot of Mexican food, even in authentic spots, is that many places don’t season their meat because they rely on the sauces to bring the flavor. But this place actually seasoned their steak, chicken, and shrimp instead of just depending on the toppings and salsa to do the heavy lifting. That made a huge difference and elevated the whole dish. Final Verdict Overall, I was thoroughly impressed. The food was fresh, well-seasoned, and balanced, and they clearly put thought into even the smallest details. “ In and out in less than an hour. Stopped on our way from Tuscaloosa to Pensacola. Service was quick and food and margaritas were fantastic!!! Love their lunch special - pick 3 or 4 from a list of 15 for 9.99 and 11.99, respectively. This list of 15 also includes rice, beans, grilled mushrooms, guacamole salad as options - basically a mix and match for both sides and main dishes! ”

I ordered 3 street tacos (campechano, pastor, and carnitas). They were absolutely incredible. My wife ordered a chimichanga and it was outstanding. The service is top notch. I knew the place was going to be awesome when the patrons were a mix of Air Force personnel and Hispanic families. I will be back to check out more menu items. “ Pastor Street tacos were very good. Had the Barbaco, it was good, but I like the Pastor better. Came with grilled onions. Good food and good service. Glad to have a good Mexican restaurant in Hope Hull. Food and menu very similar to Sol in Montgomery another favorite restaurant. Huevos con chorizo (eggs and Mexican sausage), Churros, the elote loco (corn on the cob) and fries locas were all very good. The Parrilla salad and Parrilla bowl were also good. ”

Lots of local folks (which is a good sign!) Service was low key but high speed. Chips and salsa were great. Food came out ssssssuuuuuppppeer fast and hot and fresh. Big portions and great flavor. The salsa snuck up on me mid way into the meal and I enjoyed the lingering effects. Good value for the price and planning on visiting again when I'm in the area. ”
